Choosing the right mattress
Don’t invest in a new mattress before checking out this site. There are pages of details about inner-sprung, latex and foam mattresses, waterbeds, futons and memory foam (visco-elastic) mattresses. Find out about mattress care, too, so that when you’ve bought the best one you can afford, you will know how to prolong its life so that it will continue to give you a good night’s sleep for years to come.

Bed dimensions (metric)
The bed dimensions below are generally accepted as standard - but not always, so if size is critical, check carefully! For more information, see the Buyer's Tip below on imperial bed dimensions.

Single bed 900 x 1900mm
Double bed 1350 x 1900mm
King size 1500 x 2000mm
Super-king 1800 x 2000mm

Try to leave about 40-50cm space around a single bed for easy movement, and 70cm circulation space around a double bed.
